Let me explain briefly how and why a Fast Detox works so well, most of us in Western Countries are being constantly bombarded by man made toxins, by way of what we consume and the air we breathe not to mention the toxins we ourselves produce when we are subjected to undue stess, nearly all of these toxic substances are made by man and not found in nature at all, as such our bodies find it almost impossible to eradicate these toxins especially when we continue to ingest more into our system. Our liver is the first line of defence against toxins entering the bloodstram in the first place, however the liver being deigned by Nature and not a Chemist simply cannot regognise most of the Chemical toxins in which we partake in the 21st Century, alas not recognising them as toxins does not make them non-toxic, our Kidneys will help eliminate these toxins but is simply overwhelmed by the sheer quantity of toxins we ingest.
Research has indicated, even without the inevitable breakdown of our body detox functions, the human body is simply not capable of eliminating the variety of toxins and chemicals that are ingested. The toxins will accumulate in our cells (especially fat cells), blood, tissues, organs and remain stored for an indefinite length of time bringing all kinds of eventual health problems as time goes by.
The effect of these toxins on the body is that they form Free-Radicals, in brief these are highly unstable atoms or compounds by way of being open shell configuration and unpaired electrons, very nasty indeed, these radicals run amok in the body damaging every healthy cell they cross the results of this damage soon start to show in the decline of our general health.
So what do I need to do on a Fast Detox?
With most things in life you only get out what you put in, not so with the Fast Detox you really will get so much more back than you put in.

The ultimate Fast Detox
is so effective because it starts with a bang, by which I mean absolutely No Food for 24 hours, now if you eat like most of us and finish with an evening meal it will mean you Can eat in the evening after 24 hours have passed, however if you can skip this meal and sleep for a second night so much the better it will help the initial boost enormously, when I say no Food this obviously includes drinks apart from bottled water.
during the course of the first 24 hours it is imperative that you consume no less than 2 ltrs of bottled water. Not (fizzy water)
So why Fast.
Firstly this is to stop you consuming any toxins and to put your system into a cleanse mode, all of the major
Organs which are involved in the assimilation and processing of food into energy and waste are given a break, possibly for the very first time in their life, the body having the ability to repair itself (with exceptions) will use this valuable time to start that repair process, and it starts by eliminating the toxins stored therein releasing them back into the blood stream for further processing by the body and eventual destruction and elimination.
Fasting is one of the oldest therapies in medicine with many great doctors of ancient times and old healing systems recommending the process as a vital part in healing and disease prevention. So After our 24/36 hour fast what do we do.
The Liver being the first line of defence against ingested toxins takes quite a battering over time, and we all know that alcohol is not good for the liver?, so this is the first thing to go for 10 Days. No Alcohol, None.
No Processed or Fast Food, includes fizzy sweet drinks,
Most people are to some extent wheat intolerent so no wheat or wheat products, bread, pasta, pastry, biscuits or similar.
No dairy, excepting eggs
No Red Meat or Pork ( if you want to cleanse your colon)
That is it pure and simple, you can even eat a little chocolate ( high coco content is better contains antoxidents)
What to Eat on the Fast Detox
All things fresh especially if you can afford to go organic for 10 days, instead of pasta and bread try beans and pulses legumes are one of the best food groups available full of complex carbohydrates, proteins vitamins and minerals, try them instead of the more starchy carbs such as potato, white rice, pasta or bread (bread and wheat products are quite toxic to many people who suffer wheat intolerance, what is not quite so well known is that over 60% of people are wheat intolerant) so it is important to try to eliminate wheat products as much as possible
ESPECIALLY during the detox period.
Try to consume a wide variety of fresh organic vegetables or salads a simple rule from Ayurveda helps combine them well, “The more colours on the plate the better also try to get different types of taste, bitter, sweet, spicy,
astringent, and pungent”
Take as much of your vegetables raw or as lightly cooked as is possible,
Take as much fruit as you like, try eating a raw carrot or other vegetables along with your fruit.
This is where the bulk of nutrients and antioxidants that will berequired during the Detox to clean up the excess
Free Radicals that WILL be released come from and will include all your fresh fruit and vegetables, when selecting
these go for as much variety as possible, if you can afford to go organic and seasonal, when selecting choose as many different colors as you can, and different taste groups too, choose different taste groups to.
Sweet tasting, helps build tissues, calms nerves found in natural sugars,
Sour taste, helps cleanse tissues, increases absorption of minerals found in Sour fruits,
Salty taste, Improves taste to food, lubricates tissues, stimulates digestion found in sea
vegetables,

Carbohydrate and fibre
Again we are not asking a lot here, but try as best you can to mix your carbs, in today’s society the bulk of carbs are consumed by way of wheat products, white rice and potatoes, these are all processed to some extent, if you skin your potatoes prior to use you have in fact just removed the bulk of the nutrients and fibre and are left with a simple starchy carbohydrate, again with rice when the husk is removed the nutrients and fibre go with it, and the same applies to wheat with the nutrients and fibre being mostly found in the husk, so when you buy the above try to go for the wholegrain sources, wholemeal or wholegrain breads or pasta, natural, brown or wholegrain rice, and try to leave the skins on your potatoes as far as is possible.
A truly excellent source of carbohydrates and fibres, have been largely forgotten in the diet of today these are beans and legumes, they are full of nutrients are delicious, cheap and very easy to prepare and as an added bonus they are all a source of complex carbohydrates and many contain protein, so try to introduce these great foods into your diet ( if you ask preparing from dried make sure you follow the instructions properly.
That’s it in a nutshell, no reduced carbohydrates, very simple, easy to follow, a piece of cake (or NOT).
