Prevent Weight Gain during Thanksgiving with Bodyweight Workouts at Home
It’s that time of year again when we get together and stuff ourselves with delicious foodsand take a break from our occupation. Typically it’s an excuse we use to rationalize fattening up over the holidays but that just makes the upcoming New Year’s Resolution of losing weight that much harder. There is no reason to gain fat around the holidays if you just put some good quality preventative measures in place. Just by training at home a few days a week using bodyweight exercises you can speed up your metabolism just enough to stop fat from accumulating around your belly.
You can get a full body workout from home without having to go to a gym burning hundreds of calories in quick 20 to 30 minute workouts.
Some good quality exercises comprise:
Sissy Squats
Push ups with feet elevated
Diagonal Lunges
Squat Thrusts
Reverse Lunges
Jumping Jacks
Mountain Climbers
Planks and Side Planks
You can do circuit training style workouts going from 1 exercise to the next. Not only will this work your muscles but it will offer a high intensity interval style cardio workout which will burn up more fat than dull slow sessions on a treadmill or stationary bike.
To get an added fat preventing boost do these workouts within an hour or two before your feast. The exercises will drain the glycogen stores in your muscle tissue and your muscles are very sensitive to carbohydrates after a workout. Rather than storing a lot of those added calories as fat your muscles will soak them up like a sponge replacing the lost glycogen from the workout. This is a really excellent line of attack to use during the holiday season.
Lose Belly Fat by adhering to a few workouts a week for the long haul and you will never have to ever worry about dieting ever again. Once you get down to your target weight it is so much easier to just maintain with easy bodyweight workouts if you don’t have time for the fitness center.
